I've no idea about generic 1:35 matching to 28mm scale though, sorry :(

Podcasts are like any citizen journalism. Most is poor and there are a few gems out there. I'm having major problems populating my blog reading list with stuff that I would like to read, wading through blogs that I don't care for is difficult. I would direct people towards which features Gareth, once of this parish.

For the record - I find the 3 Colors Up video quite dull as well. That is exactly the type of thing we try to avoid.

I strongly feel The Independent Characters has seperated itself from the crowd enough to garner quite a bit of community attention, support of various BL authors (Abnett, ADB, and an upcoming interview with Rob Sanders about Legion of The Damned), as well as Forge World support.

So while some of the posters here have had some bad experiences with some Podcasts, I would say again, give us a try and see if you find us different.

While I don't find all Podcasts to my liking, the other point I would add is that Podcasts are (typically) free! I won't begrudge anyone going out and providing free content for the community, or at least trying to do so. Putting together an audio Podcast (or God help you a Video one!) is a tremendous amount of work.

I don't really have a care for podcasts or vidcasts - not for any particular bias or criticism against them, but I've just never been inspired to start absorbing them. The few youtube shorts and anaylises I've seen haven't thrilled me, mostly because the content is never anything particularly exciting for me - I'm not a tournament or competetive player so rules lawyering is a bit beyond me (I'm steadfastly in the "Roll a dice for it now, discuss it later" school, with the added caveat of "Stop playing if the guy's gonna be a pedantic dick about things") and I haven't seen any good painting videos that have suckered me in or enthralled me like the 'Eavy Metal Masterclasses have.

Maybe when/if I start gaming more and more seriously I'll take a look at any playing tips, but until then I'm just not swayed.

I think I'm pretty passive in that regard, but it helps that I've not only grown up with the 'Throne but can rely on it for news and feedback at a comfortable speed - Reds8n and others keep us well enough up-to-date and ahead on leaks and promotions, the basic community stuff is pleasant and small enough scale to make it cosy, I'd like to see more painting and hobbying in general but what there is is of an OK and interesting standard... I think my only complaint about the 'Throne is the lack of comics! :P

But then, I suppose I'm in a position to address that personally, if I wasn't so lazy... ;-)

I've noticed that over the month or so I've stopped going onto Beasts of War, the only thing that temporally pulled me back were the Necron leaks.

Podcasts are new to me, still finding my way around them.

I think Videoblogs or whatever could work, and I think it will take a really good video blog to come along and show how it should be done. Sadly it would either be done series by series, or on a monthly schedule. Because as we all know, quality takes time, especially quality editing!

EDIT: I'm not saying the blogs we have now are bad, just saying they could be a lot better.

And given how anti social a lot of people within our hobby are, I think a "cool" hobbyist would need some serious convincing to actually present the Videoblog.
