I can see 'Getting Daemonettes' quickly becoming a Euphemism for the runs...

Shouts out to Mr. Friendly Neighbour for this titbit
 | | I also got the contents of the Daemon Spearheads. I hope I remember it correctly!
1 Codex/Armybook
10 Bloodletters
10 Daemonettes
5 Fleshhounds
1 Bloodcrusher
1 Beast of nurgle
1 Fiend of slaanesh
1 Epidemius
1 The Masque
1 Skulltaker
1 Keranak
1 Soulgrinder (only in the 40K one) |
The 40k list is looking like it will run in the following way
HQ : special characters : Kugath the Plaguefather, Fatreweaver, oracle of Tzeentch and Skarbrand the exiled one.
Then the 4 Greater Demons, all different stats all much more powerful than in the chaos marine book. A LOT more powerful if you follow.
Then the special character Heralds-- The Masque,Epidemius,The Bluescribes and Skulltaker, then a herald for each god. You can take 2 heralds as 1 HQ choice but the army must be led by either a GD or one of the named demons.
Elites :
fiends of Slaanesh, flamers, beasts of Nurgle and fleshhounds--option of a special character for the hounds (" Keranak").
Troops:
Bloodletters, daemonettes-- who stat wise seem very tasty, plaguebearers and horrors-- special vet champ for them option, and also furies and Nurglings who don't count as compulsory.
Fast attack : bloodcrushers, seekers of slaanesh and screamers
Heavy : Soulgrinder (fucked up defiler, add on replacement hull to convert this) and demon prince-- more options than in the chaos marine book.
All in all the list is looking exteremly nasty/tasty.

ooohhh I think it will be very interesting to say the least.
Some details for you, should be accurate but this isn't guarenteed 100%
Fateweaver - Soul Devourer: power weapon; Ld test for every wound or instakill
Skarbrand - Burning Hatred: All units, friend and foe, within 24" re-roll close combat attacks
The Masque - Instrument of Chaos: breaks a tied close combat
Pavane of Slaanesh (see below)
Eternal Dance : use Pavane 3 times
Bluescribes:
- jump infantry
-know all spells from all the powers
- They squabble over their second spell, so you have to roll to see what it will be.
We are Legion: Tzeentch only; may independantly target multiple weapons
Master of Sorcery: may use on extra ranged attack (but not the same one over)
Bolt of Tzeentch: 24", S 9, AP 2, Ass 1
Boon of Mutation: T test or turn model into spawn
Daemonic Gaze: 24", S 4, AP 2, Ass 3
Breath of Chaos: template; 4+ to wound or glance
Pavane of Slaanesh: similar to Lash; 18", d6 movement
Aura of Decay: 6" range; all models take a S 2, AP - hit
Warpfire: 18", S 3, AP 3, Ass 2
Blessing of the Blood god-- similar to what Kharn has with regards to psychic powers (and forceweapons?)

That is exactly what a Defiler should have been in the first place. Sweet.

One evening I have off--spent furiously dogfighting over the Dune seas of Tatooine and look what I come back too.
Daemonettes look better there, wait until you see the pigtailed ones.
Unbound Defiler looks awesome though doesn't it.
Shouts out to Mr. Baephomael for these : the Slaanesh "guy" is the Masque.

Agreed. As soon as I saw the soulgrinder torso, I reckoned it would be the basis for uncountable deamon prince, greater deamon or any "large scale" conversions.
I still think I'd be better off buying up all the current slaaneshi stuff and deamonettes, as that new fiend looks mighty silly.
Great leap forward = massive step backwards

Shot of a/the green for the Soulgrinder.
From the looksm of the sprues further up ^^ I am especially interested in the big sword arm, think that could look great.
I'm hoping that when the plastic Demon Prince-- which is coming at some point, might even be done already--the kits would/will combine well.

The Soulgrinder is just awesome. A really beautiful model.
I'm a bit concerned that the masque appears to be a baton twirler though. I could understand it if the deamonettes were a bit more cheerleader like...

Few more pictures surfacing : Thanks to Captain Sanchez for some of these, and to all the other crazy guys and gals who went and snapped.
Love the sword option on the Soulgrinder, bit "hmmm" about the font on the demon text/logo. Beast of Nurgle looks better there too.

Those Daemonettes look much better painted, but still... ugh. Hate the return to shitty 80's style daemons, really depresses me. Love that Soulgrinder though. Delicious.

If I get my GW job, I wil be buying up all the metal slaaneshi stuff before it disappears. I am not gonna lose the opportunity to field all the classy current ones in my fantasy army, especially the fiend riders.
I bet you could find some of the older ones kicking around on the discount sites for a wee while, mebbe even at extra discounted rates to make way for the new stuff...

I hear you don't get staff discount for the first 3 months. Could all be gone by then. But unlikely I guess.

If you get the job get them quick-- most of the replaced VC stuff has already been pulled, so they won't be around for long.
The Daemonette musician....is she sticking that horn in her eye ?
Undecided about the Khorne herald...... Why does he need a coat ? Has hell frozen over ?
