Welcome to Golden Throne!
Golden Throne began life as an adult-oriented, satirical webcomic about the wargaming hobby; it pokes fun at the players, staff and organisations that frequent this much maligned pastime. ‘GT’ (as it’s known to its members and fans) originally aimed much of the humour at the Games Workshop and its staff, but later diverged to cover other aspects of the hobby. Although the comics contain recurring characters, none could be considered ‘main characters’ due to the constantly evolving and changing focus of the strip. However, there are four characters who are instantly recognisable as the most common of the recurring victims, and they are detailed on the characters page.
After a long hiatus, during which Dan, the originator and artist of the comic, became overburdened with real life commitments, the site began to take shape as a vehicle for the wargaming community which had sprung up around the Golden Throne website. The central locus for this activity was the website’s notorious forum. A seething hotbed of topical discussion, hobby-related threads, and miniatures showcase, the Golden Throne forum (and its members) have continued to drive the evolution of Golden Throne to this day, which now boasts yearly tournaments as well as its very own ’Rumour Ninja’ in residence, and a thriving fraternity of RPG players.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, despite all the rumours to the contrary: We nolonger sell crack to blind kids, honest.
