Greetings Throners!

Welcome to the first of, what we hope, will be many round-ups of the fine work currently being displayed and discussed on the Painting, Modelling and Hobby General board of the infamous Golden Throne Forums; our very own wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Regular viewers will be aware that our own illustrious Dan has been hard at work for some time building a small and perfectly formed contingent of Word Bearers for 40k, his most recent projects centering on adding a little more punch to the precedings. Having already dazzled us with this retrotastic offering, renovating and improving upon a beloved OPP Dreadnought, Dan has now set his sights on producing another clanking monstrosity by melding together several more modern kits.

For those of you who like their heavy metal a little more pious however, that lean, mean and truly amazing painting-machine Gareth, has been literally churning out Ultramarines Captains by the bucket load, including this classic 1990′s piece as his 8th Company Captain, as well as this disgustingly good-looking rendition of 1st Company Captain Agemman.

Now really does seem to be the time for showing off, as our very Mechanicus-in-the-making, Mordred, has also finally revealed his skills to the world after hiding his light under a bushel for nearly 4 years of site membership! Have a look here, to see his rather tasty Thousands Sons Warband, and ‘mixed’ Imperials (alas, nothing of the minty kind however!) – Proof positive that its never too late to stop lurking, and start posting!

…and if that’s not enough to tickle and twist your fancy, then I heartily recommend (with suitable warnings and disclaimers) diving into Paul’s thread chronicling the descent into madness which has seen him produce some truly inspired conversions of Eldar corrupted by the powers of Tzeentch and Slaanesh (the Horrors on p.2 are particularly disturbing, and viewer caution is advised!).

Not content to be outdone, others have been heeding our own Lord Siwoc’s clarion calls from the start of the year to, “Paint your f-ing models” (as he so eloquently puts it), pumping out painted pieces by the palette-load (pun wilfully intended); the current leader of the field being, Pisistratus with his ongoing painting odyssey.

And what of your humble Moderator-at-large? Well, I too have succumbed to the itch and finally stopped tickering with the sweet, sweet suite of moderating tools available on the shiny new forum (Lock! Ban! Purge!), to get to grips with the business of putting together my first WHFB army, giving in to the wanton temptations of the Warriors of Chaos with my very own Slaaneshi-themed Warhost, as well as trying to maintain some semblance of loyalty to the Immortal God-Emperor, by putting together a converted Imperial Guard Command Squad.
