As many of our regular members will be aware Golden-Throne has undergone a large scale upgrade over the course of the last week; our forums have been moved across to a new PHPBB3-based platform, and we have upgraded the main site to a WordPress-based platform sporting this shiny, new custom theme.

The new forum contains all posts, up-to-and-including those posted before the lockdown on Thursday 19th August 2010, and we have also transferred across all accounts and their attendent settings to the new platform; so all you need to do is turn up and start posting! In setting up the new main site, we are keen to retain all the elements that made Golden Throne so popular (such as Dan’s (in)famous comics), as well as add in new features (such as regular, front page articles and rumour round-ups) which we hope you’ll enjoy. We would however ask that you bear with us over the coming months, as we are still learning how to use some of our shiny, new toys and it may take a little time to iron out the kinks and upload older content; rest assured that an archive of all Dan’s previous comics is top of that list of priorities!

This reformation and transition, would not have been possible without the desire of Dan to provide his readership and fans of Golden Throne with a shiny, new website, nor the hard work of Golden Throne’s team of Moderators-cum-Administrators, who have been working behind the scenes on this transformation for the last year. Especial mention at this time should go to Vondizimo, for putting in the hard work of translating our iconic, PHPBB2 theme to the new PHPBB3 platform ready for conversion, as well as trouble-shooting the difficult and lengthy process of conversion, and to ‘our man in Australia’ Tim, for not only sourcing, but also configuring, tailoring and trouble-shooting the theme now being used on the main, WordPress-powered site. So if you get a chance, please PM these stalwarts with a quick thank you!

As per recent announcements, the old forum, will be deactivated in the evening of Sunday 22nd August 2010, and will most likely be retained for a limited period in its deactivated state, before being purged (although there are rumours, it may be sequestered away in the Ordo Moderatus vaults).

So, go forth and SPREAD THE WORD – Golden-Throne is back!
